10 Tips to Get Your Kids to Eat Vegetables

It is a common struggle for many parents to encourage their children to eat vegetables. Luckily, there are many ways kids respond well to. It would take several methods and approach to have your children eat that broccoli and peas but it will definitely be worth it.

Getting tired of the unceasing battle between you and your kids over dinner? Here are some tips to help both you and your kids win.

  • First, you need to understand that it’s not the veggies’ fault.

Come to think of it, did you really like your bowl of veggies even when you were the same age as your kids? Studies suggest that the reason for that is for us to avoid dangerous products as they usually taste bitter just like most vegetables.

Moreover, it also has something to do with children’s development. The bottom line here is that you should not lose hope.  Your children’s distaste for vegetables shall pass.

  • Get creative in preparing their food.

Try some good recipes that are appealing to your kids. You may consider mixing your vegetables with their favorite food. While you’re at it, make sure to consider the nutrients from other foods as well.

Prove them wrong with vegetables. Show them that vegetables are not that bad. Keep on eating those veggies until they eat them too.

  • Consider having a rewards program.

Be consistent in giving them treats as rewards every time they eat their vegetables. This will make them develop a routine.

  • Get help from them in preparing the food.

When your kids helped you in cooking, they will be more encouraged to eat everything because they are actually involved in preparing it.  

Above all, keep in mind that your ultimate goal here is to get your kids to like vegetables. It can take a lot of effort but soon enough, you’ll see how they gradually accept every vegetable dish you prepare for them. Who knows? They may even start liking vegetables on their own.
